Purina Live from Lexington & Citizen K.
Okay everyone, I decided—after some persuasion, to enter a contest. That contest was Purina’s Live from Lexington. The first phase was a video submission. There were about 200 entries and I was chosen along with 3 others to go to phase II of the competition.
That was my entry, and although I wasn’t completely surprised that I won (just off of sheer quality—not to sound arrogant), the fact that I’m not a corporate bobble head was what surprised me to making it to phase II.
The horse world still likes their traditional, boring, safe reporting and writing. None of that is me. So will I make it?
Well that’s where you come in. Voting is what decides the final winners and you can vote. Every 24 hours to be exact, from June 14th through July 12th.
Going to the 2010 Games in Lexington would be incredibly exciting. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t necessarily think the most talented riders are actually riding there. We all know that money comes before talent in the horse world. But I’m sure I will meet some very talented riders, they just might not be competing.
There is so much to see when you get that many horse people in one place. It will be funny, scary, interesting, annoying, painful, entertaining, and thrilling. Kind of like going to the barn but bigger.
I know I haven’t had the time to write much in the past 12-18 months. I have written though, I have plenty of drafts just no time to finish them. Plus I have been working on something a little “bigger”. Shhhh.
This is an opportunity to write more, get the real word out there and hopefully make a positive change in the horse world. Tell it how I see it and show you what I see. Video is great.
I will be blogging at Live from Lexington until July 12th. It’s going to be tough to come up with that much content continually without giving away my own stuff. So if you have ideas, requests, questions, or even just some good old fashion motivation email or you can leave a comment.
It’s going to be a grueling 29 days…
I’m excited for the opportunity and I’m up for it, but I need your help.

Okay, not going to lie, when I first read your comment about not being surprised to make the finals due to the quality of the film, I thought it was incredibly arrogant.
Oh, but then I watched the other contestant’s videos.
